Education
Vera earned a Master’s Degree in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard School of Public Health, where she studied geriatrics, accounting, and health economics.
Experience
Vera’s expertise in analyzing expenditures, combined with her comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the health system, set the stage for Vera’s creation of Mindful Money Management.
She has worked for a variety of agencies involved in assessing healthcare quality, analyzing Medicare expenditures, and developing programs in health for people with disabilities.
She directed the Center for Health Care Quality Information at Pennsylvania Blue Shield for five years.
She was part of the team developing The Continuity Assessment Record and Evaluation (CARE) Item Set for Medicare, which is designed to standardize assessment of the medical, functional, cognitive, and social support status of patients in acute and post-acute settings, including long-term-care hospitals (LTCHs), in-patient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs), skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), and home health agencies (HHAs).
Sensitive & Systematic Process
Vera combines her extensive background in analyzing expenditures, health care expenses, and coverage, along with insights gained from her clients, to review their spending patterns carefully. She then crafts a thoughtful and personalized plan to help them manage their finances more effectively.

Lyn Crozier Langbein
Daily Money Manager
Lyn began her career as legal counsel working for the agency that oversees Medicare and Medicaid. She litigated cases on behalf of the government involving Medicare as a secondary payer and filing beneficiary claims and appeals. She also worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield and in a disability advocacy organization.
She has worked with seniors all her life. Her first job after high school was serving as the summer intern for the local senior citizen’s luncheon program. More recently, she has volunteered at local nursing homes and assisted her own family members with organizing and managing their finances and paperwork.
Volunteer work
After retiring from government service, she has volunteered in local public schools in multiple capacities, including teaching reading to elementary school students and serving as scholarship chair for the high school PTSA. Lyn has also been a lifelong volunteer with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Education
Lyn is a graduate of Kenyon College and of Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, which is affiliated with Cleveland State University.
Personal experience in advocacy
Lyn’s daughter was diagnosed with Type I diabetes at age one. As a result, Lyn became a volunteer advocate for students with diabetes in public schools, assisting her daughter and others by training school personnel in how to manage the disease during the school day. Her daughter’s medical issues also required her to learn to fight for insurance coverage, grapple with filing medical claims, appeal denied claims, and manage multiple suppliers and providers.
Personal Information
Lyn was born and raised in Ohio but has lived in the Olney, Maryland, area since 1993.
Jean Muskatel
Daily Money Manager
Jean joined Mindful Money Management in 2026, bringing a unique blend of high-level corporate expertise and a lifelong passion for organization and advocacy. After a successful career in the technology industry, including software engineering and project management leadership roles at Marriott and Capital One, she retired in 2023 to return to her first love: numbers.
With an undergraduate degree in mathematics and a Masters in Management Information Systems, Jean spent decades navigating complex technology challenges in the corporate world. She specialized in the integration of new technologies, ensuring that large-scale implementations integrated smoothly into large enterprise environments. Today, she leverages that same rigor to help individuals and families gain clarity over their personal finances.
Jean’s transition into Daily Money Management was born from a decade of experience managing her mother’s affairs through the challenges of dementia. From coordinating long-term care policies and estate planning to developing custom forecasting spreadsheets, she learned firsthand the delicate balance of providing financial structure while honoring a loved one’s independence.
Why Daily Money Management?
I was blessed with a brain that loves to organize, and it brings me joy to share that with others. I’ve seen how much peace it brings a family when their finances are no longer a source of stress, but a tool that allows them to live their best life. When she isn’t organizing spreadsheets, Jean can be found exercising. She’s a lifelong runner and has discovered yoga since retiring from her corporate role. She also may be discovering a new country as she and her husband continue to travel the world. Jean and her husband have 2 grown children who share their passion for travel. They find a new place to venture to as a family every year.
Tanya N. Brzeski Andrade
Daily Money Manager
Professional experience
Tanya has spent more than two decades working behind the scenes of programs that changed people’s lives—most recently as Division Chief at the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of International Labor Affairs, where she guided a $197 million portfolio of grants and contracts focused on protecting workers’ rights and combating child labor across Latin America and the Caribbean. She led an eight-person team and worked closely with federal partners to make sure those programs stayed on track, accountable, and true to their mission.
International service and leadership
Her career has taken her around the world in service of causes she cares deeply about: leading a USAID-funded initiative to expand school access in Zambia; directing federal grants across Brazil focused on workforce development and economic opportunity; and founding her own nonprofit in Brazil, which she grew into a thriving social enterprise connecting more than 1,500 young people to job training and formal employment. Earlier in her career, she managed leadership development programs for donor-funded initiatives in Bahia, Brazil, training partner organizations to manage their own budgets and programs responsibly.
Financial experience
Across every role, Tanya’s real focus has always been the same: making sure the people and organizations doing important work have the financial structure and support they need to succeed.
Education and languages
Tanya holds an MBA from the Federal University of Bahia in Brazil and is fluent in English and Portuguese, with advanced conversational Spanish.
